This week, I finally took advantage of my ability to take free flights and spent a day in Philadelphia with my mother-in-law. We had the most amazing time. Despite my nervousness of going to a place I have never been before and not being familiar with the transportation, everything went smoothly. I have been studying up on the history of our great nation, especially the time period of the founding of this country so to be able to stand where the Declaration of Independance and The Constitution were signed was truly a humbling experience. It gave me new respect and understanding for the freedoms that we enjoy and so often take for granted. I am truly grateful to be an American.

While in Philly, we were able to see the Liberty Bell, Independance Hall, The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the Grave of Benjamin Franklin. We enjoyed a historical carraige ride with a driver who was full of fascinating information about the city. We lunched on a Philly Cheesesteak and took in the beautiful scenery. I definitely plan to go back to see all the things we just didn't have time to see.
