Sometimes I wish I could live life as my children do. The entire world revolves around counting down to the next holiday or big event. Their exuberance at what is coming next is pure joy to watch. I never knew that St. Patrick's Day could be such a big deal but the countdown began on March first. They had so much fun that day looking for people who violated the "wearing green" rule. Jordan came home from school so excited because a leprechaun visited his classroom while they were at recess.
This morning, Jordan changed the calendar and realized what day it is. He tried all morning to play April Fool's jokes, eventhough he really doesn't quite get the concept. But then a light bulb went off in his head, and he reaized that Easter is this month too. So once again, a countdown has begun. For this holiday though, I'm trying really hard to teach my kids what Easter is really about. It made for a great teaching moment to talk about the Resurrection of Christ and what that means for us. I look forward to holidays in the coming years, to explain more about what the true meanings are and teaching them to look past the commercial aspects of the seasons and to remember our Savior. Afterall, without the Easter season and what it stands for, we couldn't have hope for a better tomorrow. And I believe that we all know that we must have hope in these trying times. I look forward to sharing this Easter with my family, having fun, but also remembering it's true intentions.

Kids keep us young, right? Remember how excited you used to get? It's like that song life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone. Glad I have kids to help me remember all of those new thrills. Good to see your update :o)
