We had a wonderful Easter weekend spent with family and friends. On Saturday afternoon, we were invited to attend an egg hunt and picnic. The kids had a blast. The event ocurred at a house on a large property surrounded by woods. There were eggs everywhere, easily hidden on the grass for the two and younger crowd but also hidden in the woods for the older kids. Trevor was able to start hunting in the first group. He was so excited but didn't really know what to do. When I showed him how to find eggs and put them in his basket, he could hardly contain his delight. And then when he realized the eggs held candy, he parked himself on a step and proceeded to eat as much candy as he could. Jocelyn and Jordan went directly into the woods and I didn't see them back for about ten minutes. They also tore into the candy. Jocelyn fell in the process and skinned her elbow, knee, ankle, and hand but didn't really care. She wasn't about to miss out on anything to stop and get cleaned up.
The Easter Bunny came that night and brought little treats and goodies for each of the kids. They love to look for their baskets Easter morning. After the initial excitement wore down, we sat together and discussed what the true meaning of Easter is. I am constantly surprised at how much Jordan and Jocelyn are starting to understand about Christ and the atonement. I am so grateful for the Gospel and the tools that we have to teach our children the true priciples that will make us happy. We had a wonderful Sacrament meeting, as well as our other meetings. We had dinner with our family (aunts, uncle, and cousins.) It was the perfect ending to a wonderful weekend.
