Durant Nature Park

One of the things that I love most about living in North Carolina is all the different parks and places in nature to visit. On a beautiful Saturday in April, I took all the kids to Durant Nature Park. It is only a few miles down the road from our house. There are many walking trails, a lake, a playground, and picnic areas. They even teach classes to preschoolers through school-age children about the different plants, trees and wildlife you can find in the area. We enjoyed a beautiful walk through the trees out to the lake. The kids had a great time playing on the playground. It was really a great place to teach them about the importance of nature and how to respect our surroundings.
