Museum of Natural Science

Let me start by saying that I am way behind on blogging. The past month has been so busy with one event after the next so here is starting the marathon blogging to try to get caught up.

Jordan's class was taking a field trip to the Raleigh Museum of Natural Science, so a few days before he was to go, I took Jocelyn and Trevor to see what it is all about. The nice thing about the museums in downtown Raleigh, is that they are free. You just have to pay for parking, which can be difficult to find but we lucked out on this day. The kids absolutely loved the museum. There were all the normal things from dinosaurs to all the native animals in the area. But they also have a class that teaches about some animals and allows you the experience to touch them. Both Trevor and Jocelyn are animal enthusiasts, so they were thrilled to get to feel a tortoise, a chinchilla, and a snake. There was also a butterfly habitat with hundreds of butterflies all around you. Needless to say, Jordan had a great time with his class as well. I think it is safe to say that the museum may be one of our "go to" things when we can't think of anything else to do.
